2. TYPE OF WORK. The duties include but are not limited to the following:!
2.1. Examines, evaluates, diagnoses, and treats psychiatric disorders.
2.2. Prepares and reviews case histories and obtains and evaluates data through interview techniques.
2.3. Diagnoses psychiatric disorders.
2.4. Prescribes and evaluates effectiveness of a wide range of therapeutic measures.
2.5. Recommends disposition of psychiatric cases.
2.6. Advises on problems related to mental health and prevention of mental disorders.
2.7. Serves as medical and psychiatric consultant to clinical psychologists and clinical social workers.
2.8. Advises on kind and quantity of psychiatric supplies and equipment.
2.9. Coordinates psychiatric services with other medical activities.
2.10. Instructs interns and residents in psychiatric principles and procedures.

Minimum qualification:
! 1. QUALIFICATIONS.
1.1. Completion of a residency or ! fellowship in psychiatry acceptable to the Surgeon General, HQ USAF.
1.2. Eligible for board certification in general psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN)
1.3. Must have graduated from an accredited Psychiatry residency within one year of hire OR, since graduating from an accredited Psychiatry residency, must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Psychiatry treating active duty military patients.
