POSITION DETAILS: 1 Permanent position to be filled
Salary range: $78,355.00- $96,436.00 ( Annually)

Relocation Expenses Paid: No Travel Expenses -Not Paid: travel, transportation, and relocation expenses associated with reporting for duty in this position will be the responsibility of the employee. A Recruitment Incentive may be given up to 10% of salary.

DUTIES:
Please ensure you answer all questions and follow all instructions carefully. Errors or omissions may impact your rating or result in you losing consideration for the job.
Provide comprehensive and therapeutic psychiatric care to patients and their families.
Formulate and implement plan of care which may involve various treatment modalities.
Prescribe medications and surveillance of medical regimens for stabilized chronically mentally ill persons, recognizing when to refer the patient to physician or other health care team member.
Use an Electronic Health Record system to obtain patient information, document care, order lab tests and medications.
Consult with internal and external customers including hospital staff and outside providers as well as area wide mental health professionals and organizations.
Basic Requirement:
Educat! ion: Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved! by thelegally designated State accrediting agency at the time the program wascompleted by the applicant.
AND
Registration: Applicants must have active, current registration as a professionalnurse in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico,or a territory of the United States.
Qualifications
GS-12Minimum Qualifications: One year of specialized experience that hasequipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities toperform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typicallyin or related to the work of the position to be filled. To becreditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at leastthe GS-11 level in the Federal Government.
Specialized Experience atthe GS-11 is defined as serving as a Nurse Practitioner providingdirect and comprehensive primary, preventative and therapeutic medicaland nursing care for all patients related to psychiatry as well asprescription writing, couns! eling and/or coordinating services andparticipating with other disciplines in reviewing the program.
SELECTIVE FACTOR: In addition to the qualification requirements for the OPM and IHSExcepted Service Qualifications described above, to be rated basicallyqualified for this position, candidates must possess current, valid,active, unrestricted professional nursing license as a professionalnurse from any State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth ofPuerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. New graduates mustalso possess this licensure as indicated with no grace period allowed.Applicants must have certification issued by the appropriate certifyingbody, the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or through theAmerican Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), as a Nurse Practitioner.
This position requires the selected individual to write prescriptions and obtain and maintain medical staff clinical privileges.
