  • Assists in planning and developing Axis plant operations policies and goals; implements goals through subordinate managerial, supervisory, and administrative personnel.
  • Coordinates activities of plant to effect operational efficiency and economy.
  • Directs and coordinates promotion of products manufactured at location, or services performed, to develop new markets, increase share of market and obtain competitive position in industry.
  • Analyzes department budget requests to identify areas in which reductions can be made and allocates operating budget.
  • Confers with managerial, supervisory, and administrative personnel at plant, and reviews production activity, operating and sales reports to determine necessary changes in programs or operations.
  • Directs preparation of directives to Department Managers outlining policy, program, or operations changes to be implemented.
  • Leads and facilitates meetings with site managers, supervisors, administrative personnel, and production employees.
  • Monitors activities of materials, engineering, maintenance, human resources, and manufacturing to maximize scheduling and real-time utilization of resources.
  • Interfaces with management to ensure smooth coordination of production scheduling and maximization of production schedule adherence; provides input on local conditions, identifies needs, and receives directions on real-time increases or reductions in staff.
  • Enacts contingency plans as needed; directs, and as necessary, expedites activities during systems problems, disasters, etc.; identifies potential problems, troubleshoots, expedites issues to management, and participates in post-mortem analysis of problems providing input for future process improvements.
  • Reviews ongoing performance results compared to targeted results. Takes corrective measures with authorization, expedites as needed.
  • Participates in daily, weekly, monthly, and annual planning process as appropriate.
  • Keeps immediate superior informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action that may be taken.
  • Coordinates production activities with materials, purchasing, maintenance, tooling, engineering, quality, and Human Resource Departments to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
  • Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, tooling, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems.
  • Consults with engineering, tooling, and maintenance personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment to improve production and quality of products.
  • Role reports to the Director of Assembly.

Required experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two (2) years of management experience in manufacturing environment, automotive industry preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills.
  • Proven leadership ability and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office and other business systems.
