NATURE OF POSITION: The Health Information Management Scanner is an integral member of the interdisciplinary health team and assumes responsibility for medical records maintenance according to the departmental guidelines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:High School diploma or equivalent required.
Good communication skills.
Knowledge of scanning and computers.
Self-motivated and organized with a flexible approach.
Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a high-volume department and prioritize accordingly.
Must always maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Phone etiquette.
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, and/or lift for extended periods of time.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Scan, verify, and upload documents into appropriate database.Scan files and organize files in an effective manner.
Protects the confidentiality of patients and their records at all times by complying with The Clinic’s Patient Confidentiality and HIPAA policies and procedures.
Perform scanning and data entry.
Responsible for proper maintenance of medical records.
Maintains a close working relationship with staff.
Communicates clearly and effectively with co-workers.
Performs other related duties of the department as directed by Director of Health Information.
Performs other duties as assigned.
