DUTIES:

The primary purpose of this position is to provide a full range of psychological services for adult beneficiaries at the Mental Health Clinic; to conduct assessments and provide evidence-based psychotherapy, and to offer consultation to medical staff and commanders.

·

Provides evidence-based psychotherapy for adults. Conducts individual, group, and couple's psychotherapy for beneficiaries with a full range of psychiatric problems including psychotic, neurotic, character, family, relationship, learning and organic disorders.

·

Conducts intake evaluation and psycho-diagnostic assessments.

·

Provides psychological consultation for psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, nursing staff, military commanders/senior leaders, and other DOD and civilian providers

·

Provides training and clinical supervision to mental health technicians.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS-11) or equivalent.

Specialized experience must include

professional knowledge of psychological principles, theories ,methods of data situations and problems in providing consultative services or training in psychological principles, theories, methods and techniques to advance knowledge of them and their appropriate use.

Federal Time-In-Grade

(TIG) Requirement for General Schedule (GS) Positions:
Applicants must have served at least 52 weeks at the GS-11 or higher grade (or equivalent in an alternate pay system) within the Federal Civil Service to be considered for referral.

The purpose of TIG restrictions is to prevent excessively rapid promotions in competitive service GS positions and to protect competitive principles.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1.

Professional knowledge of evidence-based treatment for a full range of psychiatric disorders.

2.

Professional knowledge of individual, couple's, and group psychotherapy modalities.

3.

Professional knowledge of administration, scoring and interpretation of psychological tests.

4.

Skill in conducting interviews to establish the nature and extent of their concerns and/or issues; providing professional assistance to clients; and determining appropriate referral services and/or options.

5.

Skill in oral and written communication.

6.

Ability to evaluate psychiatric disorders.

7.

Ability to provide guidance and consultant services to medical professionals and military leaders.
